Medical Tests and Lab Results

You can manually import and reconcile patient tests and lab results from a C-CDA file into axiUm. Once reconciled, you can view them via the EHR module > Medical Tests tab.

For institutions using the Consistency of Care or Carequality modules, C-CDA files containing medical tests can be imported automatically as part of the patient clinical reconciliation / patient sync process. Additionally, institutions using Carequality can configure and perform auto-reconciliation on medical test records in imported C-CDA files.

Note: For information on importing results via the Consistency of Care or Carequality modules, refer to the Consistency of Care and Carequality Setup and User Guides.

  1. Select a patient and open the EHR module.

  2. Click the Medical Tests tab and review the listed entries.

    3. Tip: If Carequality is enabled, any records that are reconciled from outside axiUm display a Reconciled () icon. Additionally, a Recon Date column displays the date of reconciliation and a Source column displays the source of the data for reconciled records.

  3. (Optional) Filter the listed results using the following fields:

    4. Note: The default settings are configured by your institution.

    Field Description
    Only show orders that have results

    Select this checkbox to display only records that have medical test results.

    Note: If selected, records with pending test results do not display.
    Show Deleted

    Select this checkbox to include deleted medical test results and labs.
    Show Reconciled

    Select this checkbox to include reconciled medical test results.

    Note: This checkbox only displays if Carequality is enabled.

  4. Review the listed entries.
  5. To perform another task, complete any of the following:
    1. Right-click a listed entry and select View Details… to display the View Medical Test Results window.
    2. Review the entries as necessary.

      3. Tip: A Clinical Reconciliation section displays Reconciliation Date and Source fields for institutions that use Carequality. If the record was reconciled into the EHR, the fields will be populated with the date of reconciliation and the source of the data.

    When necessary, you can view the source C-CDA file for a medical test that was reconciled into a patient record.

    Note: This is only applicable for institutions that use Carequality.

    1. Right-click a listed entry and select View Source C-CDA... to display the Select Sections window.
    2. Next to each section you want to view, select the checkbox and click OK.

      3. The C-CDA file opens as an Export Summary in a new tab in your default browser.

    If necessary, you can delete reconciled medical tests from the patient record that are inaccurate or no longer relevant.

    1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete () icon.
    2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion..
